What is dry glazing? Every window consists of two structural parts, the frame and the glazing (glass).

Virtually every window manufacturer uses a wet glazing. This means the manufacturer glues the glazing (glass) onto the frame of the window.  Why?  Because almost all frames manufactured are not structurally strong enough to secure the window to the frame without gluing or cementing the glazing to the frame itself.  As well, the frames of most manufacturers depend on the glazing (glass) as part of the structural integrity of the window.

Why is dry glazing important?  First, the labor cost of replacement of a broken window is considerably less when the glass doesn’t have to be scraped off the frame during the replacement process.  Secondly, almost all of the windows that have been replaced during the last 15 years were replaced to take advantage of new glass technology such as the evolution of the LO-E coatings.  What will the future bring in new glass technology?

The frame and hardware of the H Window is designed to deliver beauty and performance for many generations to come.  The H Window “dry glazing” gives you the option to replace the glazing when the new glass technology arrives without having to replace the entire window to obtain a glass replacement.

The frame of the H Window is glazed with precision as you can view in the following video:

The H Window was designed in Norway, where  homes are subject to environmental extremes.  These extremes range from severe arctic coastal conditions to cold weather blasts directly from the North Pole.

All of Norway lies north of the most southern part of Canada, and about a third of its land is north of the Arctic Circle.  The H Window was designed to insulate homes from sub-zero arctic blasts from the polar cap, while providing the home with the lasting beauty of a real wood interior.

Due to these extremes, the H Window exterior was engineered to be virtually maintenance-free with structural integrity unmatched in the window industry.

No operating window available can match the structural, air infiltration and water resistance of the H Window.

Obviously, if the H window can insulate and protect the homes of Norway against these extreme weather conditions, imagine the performance this window can achieve for your home.

No matter if your home is located in the scorching heat of the deserts of the Southwest... or the icy, windswept plains of the North... the H Window will insulate, protect and beautify your home.
